Magdalena Fuentes
I am Assistant Professor of Music Technology and Integrated Design & Media at New York University. My team and I are part of the Music and Audio Research Laboratory (MARL) and the Integrated Design & Media (IDM) Program. Our work leverages signal processing and machine learning techniques to enable machines to interpret natural sounds and music. I’m interested in methods at the intersection of sound, vision and natural language, and their application to Music Information Retrieval, Environmental Sound Analysis, Sound Computing for Accessibility and Health, and Multimodal Sound Analysis and Synthesis. I hold a Ph.D. from Université Paris Saclay in France, and a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering at Universidad de la República in Uruguay.

and Music Processing
I am Assistant Professor of Music Technology and Integrated Design & Media at New York University. My students and I are part of the Music and Audio Research Laboratory (MARL) and the Integrated Design & Media (IDM). Our work is in machine listening, a field of study that combines signal processing and machine learning for machines to make sense of natural and everyday sounds, and music. I’m interested in methods at the intersection of sound, vision and natural language, which can be easily adapted to different users and contexts. I hold a Ph.D. from Université Paris Saclay in France, and a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering at Universidad de la República in Uruguay.
